The National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women’s Club, Inc. is proud to be part of a great tradition that encourages and recognizes academic achievement and community service excellence of Black individuals. We are pleased to offer scholarships to currently enrolled high school and college students who are making a difference in their community.
National Scholarship
Submission Period: January 2 – March 29, 2024
Requirements:

Be an African-American graduating high school senior and United States citizen
-
Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Complete the scholarship application form online

Submit a typed essay of no less than 300 words on this topic: “Explain the benefits you have gained through the contributions of two trailblazers of African descent within the past twenty years, and how it has benefited you as a person”
Peola Smith-Smith Educational Leadership Scholarship
Submission Period: January 2 – March 29, 2024
Requirements:

Be a member of the NANBPWC, Inc. and a United States citizen

Be a graduating high school senior or a college undergraduate student
-
Major in Education at an accredited college or university
-
Demonstrate strong leadership skills

Possess a B grade point average or above

Submit a typed essay of no less than 300 words on this topic: “Why education is important to me”
Sherelle T. and Timothy T. Carper III Scholarship
Submission Period: January 2 – March 29, 2024
Requirements:

Be an African-American single mother (age 18-30) and a United States citizen

Be a woman enrolled in an accredited college or university
-
Major in a STEM, Aviation, Political Science, Communications or Business Management-related field

Complete an official scholarship application online
Dr. Julianne Malveaux Scholarship
Submission Period: January 2 – March 29, 2024
Requirements:

Be an African-American woman and a United States citizen
-
Be a college sophomore or junior enrolled in an accredited college or university
-
Major in Journalism, Economics or a related field (e.g. Public Policy, Creative Writing, etc.)

Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Complete the scholarship application online

Submit a typed essay of no less than 500 words on this topic: “Your career plans and their relevance to the Dr. Julianne Malveaux Program theme ‘Black Women’s Hands Can Rock the World’”
Callender-Pritchard Legacy Scholarship
Submission Period: January 2 – March 29, 2024

Be an African-American graduating high school senior or recent high school graduate

Be a United States citizen

Major in Political Science, Sociology or Black Studies

Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Submit a typed essay of 300-500 words on this topic: “Throughout the history of the U.S., there have been numerous movements to keep certain groups from voting. Recently, the John R. Lewis Advanced Voting Rights Act of 2021 is being considered in the U.S. Congress. In your opinion, why is the Voting Rights Act important?”
Irma A. Fleming Legacy Scholarship

Woman of Substance Scholarship
